One thing I get asked about is why do I wear wigs and there
a several reasons why. I wear wigs as often as I can. Even during a no-makeup
lazy day, I adore to wear them. My wig collection is ever growing but each of
my wigs has had its equal sharing of use. Many of my friends, online and
school, ask why do I wear wigs and I only ever give them one answer, because I
can but there are more reasons for why;
Reason One:
Cosplay
I do not have the perfect anime girl hair, not many people
do. (if you are fortunate of this, I envy you incredibly) There are so many
different characters with different styles, lengths and colour hair. It's simply
impossible for anyone to have their own hair for Cosplay, unless you only focus
on one character then by all mean, use your own hair. I plan on doing many
characters meaning that wigs are the way for me. I currently have a Krul Tepes
wig on the way which I'm waiting each day for it to arrive. Cosplay is
something I've always been interested in and the outfit is never complete
without the trusty wig
Reason Two: Safer
for my hair
I'm incredibly indecisive about how I want my hair. Some
days I want pastel, some days I want dark. Some days I want long hair, others I
want the boy cut short. With wigs I can have that without any real effort. The
numerous times I want to change my hair colour and length would be so unhealthy
for my hair and wouldn't work with my indecisive ways. Wearing wigs means less
commitment and less money. Pastel hair takes a lot of care and products to keep
it healthy with bleaching so switching dying with wigs allows you to keep money
in your pockets for other things. I consider myself lazy so the less effort I have
to spend on my hair, the better
Reason Three: It's
fun
Changing my style is something I find fun. I enjoy mixing
things up, the fact I can have different lengths and styles every day of the
week with minimal effort and money is something I enjoy and do regularly on
non-school days. Plus it's always a bonus being able to laugh at myself every
time I put a wig cap on. I have quite thin hair which I will admit, I am
slightly ashamed of, so wearing a wig I can forget about this shame and rock a
thicker hair style. As well as this, I have to have a shower every night or
else my hair will look somewhat on the bad side, I can have a five minute body
shower, get changed and throw on a wig to save time and money allowing me to
skip all that time spent trying to make my hair appear somewhat decent
Wigs will always be one of my favourite accessories as they
give me a chance to change up my style to fit my mood and what I'm doing that
day. Admittedly wigs have been giving a bad reputation in the past however the repudiation
is rapidly improving with more and more people wearing this. I'm going to say
this, I am not saying you absolutely need to go out and buy a wig because that
is the way you are living, I'm simply saying the reason I enjoy to wear wigs and
the benefits I get out of them.
Adding to this, I often get asked, "do you feel the wig
when it's on?" or "does it feel like you're wearing a hat?" The
answer is no. When you are new to wearing wigs, it can feel slightly odd
however it's a feeling you get used to and most of the time, you'll probably
end up forgetting you are wearing one. If you are wearing a wig correctly it
will be comfortable.
Hopefully this will give a little insight to why I wear them
and if you have any questions leave them bellow
