There aren't many books which can keep me hooked from start to finish however with John Green's books I can never seem to put the down. My all time favourite book of his has to be 'Looking for Alaska'
Once i started reading I didn't put the book down. This book took me through many emotions from laughs and smiles to the odd crying stages(I mean this is a John Green book after all) something about this book made me have an attachment to it from the beginning In the end I finished reading the book in two days.
One of my favourite things is that this is not a typical boy-meets-girl love story. In fact it's far from it Miles Halter or 'Pudge' (in which he is referred as during the entirety of the book) creates a growing attachment to Alaska Young/ From the moment he meets Alaska and her unfamiliar ways miles cannot get enough. Her mysterious aurora pulls miles in and makes him want to fully get to know and understand the unique female.
I take my hat off to John Green who managed to correctly showcase what it is like to be young, in a hopeless love and to be growing up. He perfectly grasps the uncertainty and cruel aspect and reality of life and the obstacles thrown at you. Green's phenomenal talent in writing can make you think as a completely different person once you've finished reading one of his novels.
This book has defiantly made it to my top reads and I do not in any shape or from regret any money spent on buying this book. If you're looking for a whirlwind of emotions I would defiantly recommend that you pick this book up when you can.
Until next time.
Autumn Theory.
